LENTIL SOUP (lentejas)

This recipe can also be made with just about any type of dried peas or beans.

1 tsp, dried thyme or 1 branch of thyme (chopped),

1/2 tsp Caribbean Home-Style All- Natural Hot-Sauce,

2-4 whole cloves

1 onion (sliced)

1/2 Cup Coconut Milk

3 celery stocks (chopped)

1 bunch chive (chopped)

1 Green Sweet Pepper (bell pepper, chopped)

2-3 tsps of  Madell’s All Natural Minced Garlic

4 cups water

1/2 lb lentils

3 tbls Madame Wob Dwiyet All Natural Creole Seasoning

Salt to taste (optional),

Wash lentils thoroughly to remove all impurities. In a medium sized pot, lentils, water, boil on medium heat.  Gradually add thyme, celery, add coconut milk, chive (green onions), garlic, and onions.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce low heat, cover, allow to slimmer until the lentils are soft and soup is thick.  Add more water if needed.
